Hosting a frightful Halloween party? Then try making this ghoulishly good Living Dead Cocktail by The Red Bar at Bam-Bou
The Living Dead is a unique twist on the Zombie – a cocktail that consists of fruit juices, liqueurs and various rums. While still loyal to the classic Zombie, the Punt e Mes adds a hint of bitterness and aromatic elements of cinnamon and smoky tobacco. It is bold and complex in flavour while remaining fruity and refreshing.
Ingredients
60ml Dark Rum – Havana Club 7yo
15ml Punt e Mes (sweet Italian vermouth)
15ml (roughly ½ a lime) fresh lime juice
15ml fresh orange juice (roughly ¼ of an orange)
15ml fresh pink grapefruit juice (roughly ¼ of a grapefruit)
15ml Monin grenadine syrup
10ml Heering cherry liqueur
5 dashes Angostura Bitters
5 dashes Absinthe
Sprig fresh mint, fresh berries and orange peel for garnish
Method
To make the cocktail Put all ingredients into a tiki mug or highball glass, add crushed ice. Stir well with spoon and top with more crushed ice and garnish with a sprig of mint, a few fresh berries and orange peel.
